Training exercises on sanitary and quarantine control at Almaty International Airport JSC
On May 22, 2014 Almaty International Airport JSC held the trainingexercises for employeesof the airportand other organizationsand agencies in order to organize and conductemergencypreventive andanti-epidemic measures related to deliveryand identification of passengerswith suspectedquarantineandespecially dangerousinfections, in particular the cholera, aboard an aircraft.
These activities were carried out before the next tourist season. Taking into consideration the unfavorable epidemiological situation in the world in relation to especially dangerous, intestinal and other infections, and modern high-speed means of transportation, there is a real threat of importation of especially dangerous and quarantine infections in the territory of our country. According to the World Health Organization in the territory of a number states (Africa, America, Europe, and Asia) more than 95,000 cases of various infections (plague, cholera, Ebola fever, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, etc.) have been recorded. Furthermore, therearenewdangerousinfections.
The exercises were attended by heads and employees of services of the Almaty International Airport JSC, representatives of the sanitary and quarantine control organization, Almaty disinfection station, and services of the Border and Customs control of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the exercise plan, initially the activities for examining the passenger and detecting the symptoms of cholera were conducted, and then the disinfection procedures were implemented aboard an aircraft.
The exercises were held at the proper level, and all services showed a willingness to work in conditions of emergency.
